After two years of living in Otan, I can say it's a decent option for the average person. The apartment isn't huge, but it's cozy, and the layout allows you to arrange the furniture without tripping over corners. For the price, it's a decent place to live without any unnecessary frills.
Noise
There are some nuances here, because you can hear the neighbor sneezing through the wall or the kids running around upstairs. The soundproofing is weak, so if you want complete silence, you'll have to invest in wall paneling yourself.
Renovation
We rented the apartment with an improved rough finish, and everything was generally level. The floor screed didn't crack, and the walls didn't require tons of plaster to level them, so the developer didn't skimp on the money.
Lighting
The windows overlook the courtyard and provide ample daylight. However, because the buildings are so close together, the lower floors can get a bit dark in the afternoon.
About the building
General
The house looks simple but reliable. The entrance halls are ordinary, without golden chandeliers, but they're always well-kept, and it's clear that the people who live here are simple and hardworking, so they try not to make a mess.
Cleanliness
The maintenance staff works diligently and cleans the floors every morning. Even the elevators are free of that perpetual dust and unpleasant odors, which is rare for such a large building.
Security
The courtyard is gated and there are cameras, so there's no need to worry about the children. But sometimes the gates break down and strangers get in, so security needs to be a little more careful.
Yard
The playground is fine for children, and there's plenty of space for adults to sit. I'd like more greenery, but the trees are still small and don't offer much shade.
Parking
This is a classic problem: there aren't enough spaces in the courtyard for everyone. If you arrive after seven in the evening, you'll be circling the block for half an hour until you find somewhere to park.
Utilities Stability
There are no problems with water or electricity, and the pressure is always good. The Korean elevators are fast and don't break down every week, as is common in new buildings.
About the district
General
The area is new and undergoing rapid development, so there's a lot of activity around. This is the Almaty district, and everything is developing right before our eyes, so infrastructure is being developed quickly.
Transport Accessibility
There are plenty of buses and the stop is nearby, so getting to the train station or the left bank is no problem. The roads are new and smooth, making driving a pleasure.
Traffic Jams
Because the area is densely built up, traffic jams on Baitursynuly occur during rush hour. People have to leave early if they need to get to the center by a certain time.
Supermarkets
The building itself and the surrounding areas have absolutely everything, from small shops to regular chain stores. You don't have to go far for groceries; everything is close at hand.
Schools
New schools and kindergartens have been built just a couple of blocks away, which is a huge plus for families. Children don't have to cross dangerous roads to get to school.
