About the apartment

General
Honest talk: we moved here because we were tired of paying €2500 for a shoe box in Chiado. Here, we have space. The vibe is 'Industrial Chic' (it used to be an old factory), so you have these cool brick facades and big metal framed windows. It feels sturdy. The best part? Thermal insulation. In my old place, I was freezing in winter. Here, I barely turn on the heater. The brick walls actually work. Layouts are smart—big living rooms, decent bedrooms. It feels like a home, not a hotel suite.
Security
Reinforced door, video system. Totally fine.
Neighbors
This is the best part. Actual Portuguese families live here! People say 'Bom dia' in the elevator. We have a Whatsapp group where people actually help each other instead of just complaining.
Noise
The windows are heavy-duty. When closed, silence. But be warned: Benfica is lively. If you open the windows, you hear buses, people chatting, and life happening
Renovation
High quality. Wooden floors, stone countertops. No cheap plastic.
View
No ocean view, obviously. But we look over the internal garden or the Monsanto forest in the distance. It’s green and pleasant.

About the building

General
The killer feature? The Rooftop Pool. Swimming on the roof while looking at the sunset over Benfica is a massive flex. The kids love it. There is also a huge Kid’s Club room (life-saver for birthday parties) and a gym. It feels like a luxury condo but without the stuck-up attitude of the city center.
Cleanliness
Common areas are spotless. The brick facade doesn't get dirty like the white painted buildings.
Yard
Beautiful internal plaza with playgrounds. Safe for kids to run around while you sit on a bench.
Demographics
Young families, professionals, locals. Very grounded crowd.

About the district

General
Cleanliness
It’s a lived-in neighborhood. Generally clean, but you see the occasional overflowing bin
Security
Very safe residential area. Grandma-mafia watches everything from the windows.
Beauty
It has charm, but let’s be real—there are some ugly 70s concrete blocks around us.
Transport Accessibility
The Train station (Benfica) is right there (10 mins to Rossio!). The Metro (Colégio Militar) is a bit of a walk (15 mins).
Parking
On the street? Forget it. It’s a war zone. Use your garage.
Parks
Mata de Benfica is a hidden gem.
Restaurants
Amazing 'Tascas'. You can eat a full meal with wine for €12. Zé da Mouraria 2 is nearby (portions are massive).
Supermarkets
The Market + heavy density of Pingo Doce/Lidl/Continente.
