I bought the apartment a long time ago, when the complex had just been completed. The square footage is decent, the ceilings are fine. It's comfortable to live in, but the building is gradually getting older, and it's starting to hit my wallet. I have to call plumbers regularly because of leaks.
Security
There's a heavy armored door. You can't just walk into the building; security guards are stationed downstairs 24/7. Although, in reality, they're more there to look after the furniture, just staring at their computer screens.
Noise
If the windows face the courtyard or the river, it's bearable. But some of mine face Satpayev. In the summer, it's impossible to sleep with the windows open. Mom's motorcycle racers roar their engines until three in the morning.
Appliances
The equipment is reliable and has been working for years. I installed powerful air conditioners, as the facade gets very hot in the summer. There are no power outages, and the wiring here was generously sized from the start.
Internet
The internet connection is fine, and the speed is sufficient. It sometimes drops in the evenings, but it's enough for work and news.
View
The view of the river and mountains is the only thing I have no complaints about. Especially in the fall, when the trees turn yellow. I open the balcony, look at the water, and it seems to calm my nerves.
About the building
General
The towers themselves are solidly built, a reliable monolith. But the maintenance is a complete disaster. The management company's appetite grows every year, and it's unclear what we're paying such targeted fees for.
Cleanliness
They clean the hallways regularly, and there's no dirt in them. However, the elevators and corridors themselves are in need of some cosmetic work and look tired.
Security
There are cameras everywhere, and the barrier is operational. Cars won't be stolen in the courtyard, but that doesn't always protect against petty mischief from visiting tenants.
Yard
The courtyard is a mess. Lots of concrete, little comfort. It was built purely to provide a place to park the car and quickly walk to the entrance. There's no room to walk there.
Parking
There's underground parking, and spaces cost a fortune. But guest parking is a rarity. If relatives come to visit, they have to leave their car somewhere on the surrounding streets and walk.
Utilities Stability
Elevators are a different story. They age, break down, or get stuck periodically. For towers of such height, this is critical. Water pressure on the upper floors sometimes leaves much to be desired.
About the district
General
The location is great, right in the city center. Everything is close by, and you can easily reach many important places on foot. However, the traffic jams on Satpayev Street ruin the whole experience.
Cleanliness
Satpayev Street is being swept, the Vesnovka embankment has been landscaped, and it's a pleasant place to stroll. But the exhaust fumes from the road are so thick that dust accumulates on the windowsills within a couple of days.
Security
The area is quiet and well-lit. You can walk along the embankment even late at night; patrols occasionally pass by.
Beauty
The Esentai (Vesnovka) embankment is the district's main attraction. Otherwise, it's a typical dense urban landscape of glass and concrete.
Transport Accessibility
There are plenty of buses running along Satpayev Street, and the Baikonur metro station is a 15-minute walk away. The transportation would be convenient, if not for the congestion.
Traffic Jams
The intersection of Satpayev and Seifullin is deadlocked almost all day. Heading toward Al-Farabi in the morning is a waste of time.
Noise
The city is constantly overwhelmed by noise. Sirens, car horns, emergency vehicles. There's no peace here, even at night.
Parks
Right behind the house is a promenade along the river. It's ideal for those who enjoy walking. The Botanical Garden is also easily accessible.
Restaurants
There are plenty of places to eat, from simple cafeterias to expensive restaurants. But I prefer to dine at home, so it's not really a big deal for me.
Supermarkets
There's no large hypermarket within walking distance, which is a downside. There are small shops on the ground floors, but the prices are high. For decent groceries, I drive to Magnum.
