The apartment was ready, but the renovation was a slapdash affair: the wallpaper was peeling, the laminate flooring was uneven. I had to redo a lot myself, re-attach baseboards, and replace electrical outlets so they wouldn't fall out.
Security
The door from the developer was foil and opened with a can opener. I immediately threw it out and installed a proper one. I installed the locks myself, so I have peace of mind now, even though there are always some weird guys wandering around the floor.
Neighbors
The neighbors are a complete mixed bag: some are normal families, and others throw discos until the early hours. The building chat is filled with constant squabbles over litter and noise; it's never boring.

The building looks bright and modern, the hallways are beautiful, and it's a pleasure to enter with a stroller; there are no silly 45-degree ramps. But the density of people is colossal; sometimes you feel like you're in an anthill.
Yard
The courtyard is a fairytale, with cool playgrounds with tartan surfaces, sandboxes, and swings. In the evenings, half the residential complex gathers here, children running around, and mothers chatting on the benches.
View
The windows overlook the courtyard, with a view of the playground, making it convenient for keeping an eye on the child in the future. The mountains are hidden by the neighboring blocks, but that wasn't a big deal for us.

The noise level is simply catastrophic. I can hear the neighbors upstairs arguing and the ones next door watching TV. The only saving grace is that my three children are just as noisy, so no one really complains.

It's fine to walk around during the day, but late at night, a mixed crowd gathers near the markets, which can be unsettling. The police seem to be on the move, but the courtyards aren't lit equally well everywhere.
Traffic Jams
Momyshuly is at a standstill every morning and evening; the traffic jams here are legendary. Getting to work downtown is a daily torture, wasting a ton of time.

It's perfect for a young family's first apartment. We took out a mortgage, and it worked out cheaper than an old prefab apartment in the city. The layout is standard, the rooms are small but cozy, and the square footage is a real gem.

The complex is safe inside; there's a police station, and the officers know everyone. It's best not to venture outside at night; it's on the highway, and it's dark and uninviting.

There are so many playgrounds, every yard has slides, swings, and exercise equipment—it's a paradise for children. In the evening, everyone spills out onto the street; there's no room to swing a cat, it feels like a giant anthill.

Our first apartment together, we rented a cozy two-room apartment. It's perfectly spacious for both of us, and the layout is modern and well-thought-out. But due to the very dense development, it sometimes feels like we're living in a glass cube, in full view of everyone.
Cleanliness
Satpayev and Rozybakiyev Streets are well-maintained, with wide, paved sidewalks. However, black dust from heavy traffic quickly settles on the windows, requiring monthly cleaning.
Transport Accessibility
The Alatau and Sairan metro stations are within walking distance, and buses run directly to any point in the city. The transportation links are among the best in Almaty, allowing you to travel anywhere.

We've been living here for about seven years now; we rented a three-room apartment before the kids even went to school. The apartment is warm, the layout is well-designed, and there are no useless hallways. But you can tell the building isn't new; the windows from the developer had to be replaced right away because they were mercilessly drafty.
Parks
The First President's Park across the street is our oyster; we go there every weekend. The embankment is also wonderful; I run there in the mornings, the air is wonderful.
Noise
The noise from Navoi is loud; motorcyclists are the scourge of the area in summer. But if you go deeper into the courtyard or to the river, all you can hear is birdsong and the rush of water.

We spent a long time choosing a location and finally settled here. After the bustling city center, it's pure paradise. The low-rise buildings and huge terraces make it feel like you're living in a country residence, but with all the amenities of the city. The apartment is very bright and spacious.

Nature, mountains, proximity to First President Park. You get aesthetic pleasure just from driving home.
Hospitals
There are good private rehabilitation centers and clinics in this area. We're not interested in outpatient clinics; we use our family doctor.

I bought an apartment in this area specifically for easy access to my office downtown. It's small, but the "European-style" two-bedroom layout is perfect for me alone. It's comfortable to live in, if you ignore the soundproofing, which simply doesn't exist here.

The area is lively, and walking from the metro station in the evening is completely safe; streetlights are everywhere and there are plenty of people walking. Police patrols also pass by frequently.
Yard
The courtyard is simply a concrete slab (stylobate) with playgrounds. There's a catastrophic lack of greenery; in the summer, it's a real scorcher because there isn't a single decent tree to provide shade.

I bought a three-room apartment to accommodate my family. The layout is okay, and there's plenty of square footage. But the quality of the construction leaves much to be desired: the walls are crooked, and I had to level them with a ton of plaster.
Furniture
I ordered local, sturdy furniture, with wall-to-wall wardrobes to hide the junk. My wife picked out the kitchen, and it seemed convenient, but the drawers were already starting to creak.
Security
The area is busy, well-lit, and the police patrol frequently. You don't see many thugs, but it's best not to wander the alleys alone at night—better safe than sorry.
