This is strictly for people who want modern living and don't care about 'historic charm'. The apartments are... let's say 'cozy' (read: a bit small). I have a T1, and you have to be smart with storage. But the quality is there. The soundproofing is excellent. I’m right in the middle of a busy city, but once the balcony door slides shut, it’s dead silent. The AC: Ducted and powerful. The Vibe: It feels like a high-end business hotel. Everything is beige, wood, and clean lines. No creaky floors here.

Let’s be honest: you buy or rent here for the view. From my living room, I can see the Tagus River meeting the Ocean, the bridge, and the Christ the King statue. It is majestic. The apartment itself is spacious—classic layouts, not these tiny modern shoeboxes. We have proper entrance halls and separate kitchens. However, you need to understand one thing about Restelo: The Wind. We are on top of a hill. When the Atlantic winds blow, the windows howl. You often can't use the balcony because your furniture might end up in the neighbor's garden. But inside? Solid. Central heating (radiators!) is common here, which is a rare luxury in Portugal

Let’s be real: you don't buy or rent here just for the walls. You pay for the privilege of telling your Uber driver 'Castilho 203' and seeing them nod with respect. The apartment is spaceship-level. Floor-to-ceiling panoramic windows offering a 360-degree view. All of Lisbon is at your feet: the river, the castle, the park. However, there is a catch: The Greenhouse Effect. In summer, the sun roasts the glass. The AC is industrial strength, but the electricity bills are insane (expect €500-700/month). And yes, The Ronaldo Factor. Because CR7 owns the penthouse, there are always tourists or paparazzi hanging around outside taking photos of the building. Privacy is... debatable.

Living on Avenida da Liberdade is a statement. This is the most expensive street in Portugal. The building is a renovated palace. High ceilings, intricate moldings, but completely modern inside. The Noise: Surprisingly good. The windows are museum-grade. You see the traffic, but you don't hear it. The Finish: Everything is marble, gold, and silk. It feels like living in a Cartier boutique.

This is a brand new complex, and it shows. Everything just works. The layout is super logical. No weird curved walls or long corridors. Just efficient space. The Balcony: Massive. If you are looking for open-concept lofts, this isn't it. This is 'beige luxury' from the 2000s, but the quality is undeniable. The apartments are MASSIVE. I mean, 250+ square meters. We have a maid’s room, a laundry room, and a kitchen where you can actually cook for a party of 10. The AC: Centralized and powerful. Essential for Lisbon summers. The Vibe: It feels very solid. Stone floors, heavy wood. It’s not 'trendy', it’s classic.

Honest talk: we moved here because we were tired of paying €2500 for a shoe box in Chiado. Here, we have space. The vibe is 'Industrial Chic' (it used to be an old factory), so you have these cool brick facades and big metal framed windows. It feels sturdy. The best part? Thermal insulation. In my old place, I was freezing in winter. Here, I barely turn on the heater. The brick walls actually work. Layouts are smart—big living rooms, decent bedrooms. It feels like a home, not a hotel suite.

Look, if you want to feel like you own the city, this is the spot. The view from the 20th floor overlooking the Aqueduct and the bridge? It’s an absolute stunner. Probably the best view in Lisbon, hands down. BUT. There is a massive catch. We are literally perched on top of the Eixo Norte-Sul highway. If the windows are shut, it’s a vacuum—dead silent. But crack a window for some fresh air, and it sounds like you’re sleeping on a racetrack. The drone is constant. So, you’re basically living with the AC on 24/7.

This isn't the newest building in Expo (it’s maybe 15 years old?), so the finishes aren't 'ultra-luxury', but the space is huge. We have a T3 (3 bedrooms) and it’s properly sized for a family. Heating: Central heating with radiators (gas). It gets toasty warm in winter, which is rare in Lisbon. Balconies: Big, but windy. We are set back from the river, so the view is mostly of other buildings

Moms, listen up. If you have kids and you're moving to Lisbon, don't even look at the old town. You will curse those cobblestones and hills within a week. We picked Martinhal because they are 'serviced apartments.' You live in an apartment, but with hotel perks. The place is super bright, and the terraces are massive (we basically have a playground out there). One downside, and it's a big one — the bills.
